Mat Pilates Class
Pilates
was developed in the 1920's by a man named, Joseph Pilates.
The Pilates system exercises all the muscle groups in
the body, challenging the weaker areas as well as the
stronger areas.
The Pilates system works the whole body
and aims to co-ordinate the upper and lower groups of
muscles with the core, central areas of the body. This
has a dramatic effect on strength, flexibility, posture
and co-ordination.
Whether you are interested in Pilates
to improve your body tone, for medical reasons or to
help prevent further injuries, Pilates will strengthen
your body and focus your mind.
Level 1 - Beginner/ Intermediate
- Building on the Mat Fundamentals, with a focus
on achieving competence in Mat exercises and establishing
confidence and flow or execution, moving towrads developing
Intermediate ability.
Level 2 - Intermediate/ Advanced
Level - Progressing Level 1 exercises to their full
version. Introducing Intermediate exercises and progressing
modifications to full versions, developing flow and
pace and preparing for Advanced exercises.
Semi Private &
Private Studio Apparatus Sessions
These
Private and semi-private sessions allow the Instructor
to specify your pilates to suit your body, in a way
that is not possible in Classes. Using a combination
of small apparatus the Reformers, Ladder Barrel,
Trapeze Table and Combo Chair clients can experience
that diversity and full benefits of this wonderful exercise
regime.
Each move should re-balance the body improve posture
and strength, addressing "the physical limitations
of the body so that complete coordination between the
mind and body may be achieved". Ideal for those
either wishing to extend their level of Pilates and
increase muscle efficiency, or rehabilitate after injury
or those new to Pialtes.
Open Studio
After completin a number of Private Sessions
you will be ready to attend an Open Studio Session.
Using all of the Pilates Equipment, Reformer, Chair,
Barrel and Trapeze you can build on what you have learnt
during your guided Instructor sessions. The Open Studio
is limited to a maximum of 5 people working individually
on the equipment. The Pilates Instructor is always on
hand to guide, assist and correct your technique.
It is advisable to continue with occassional Private
Sessions to continue your development with the Pilates
system.
